Shopping in Georgia's Historic High Country
Georgia's Historic High Country Travel Association
Many treasures, unique and inexpensive, await you here in Georgia's Land of Sights and Legends. We suggest a visit to these Travel Association Members:
  • Cherokee Antique Market, 9881 Commerce Street in Summerville (30747). Co-owners Will & Judy Hair and Bill & Pat Selman have filled their market with a variety of antiques and collectibles, including primitive treasures and Civil War relics. Open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1:30-5 p.m. 706-857-6788.
  • The 1902 Stock Exchange, 124 Public Square, Adairsville (30103). Proprietor Rita Pritchard lovingly restored a cornerstone building in Historic Downtown Adairsville and in it opened an antiques emporium. Specialty items include rare books, Civil War collectibles, and Georgia gifts. Open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. 770-773-1902.

Antiques

Cave Spring is a quaint community well known for antiques shopping. Antique treasures can also be found at many shops in Blue Ridge, Calhoun, Cartersville, Carrollton, Ellijay, Rome and Tallapoosa. Several dealers in Adairsville have monthly antique auctions. Contact the visitors centers in these areas for details.

Shopping Malls

Fine department stores and shopping malls are located in Dalton and Rome.

Only In The High Country

Tallapoosa's West Georgia Golf Discount offers everything for the links enthusiast. Jasper's Bargain Barn attracts outdoorsmen for a great selection of hunting and fishing gear. Dalton's many carpet manufacturers have made a name for themselves by offering floor coverings and home furnishings at outlet prices - Dalton is the carpet capitol of the world.
